Bay Area Regional Medical Center Hosting Free Cooking Demo With Chef Adrian Perez
Healthy Recipes, Patient Story Showcases Metabolic and Weight Loss Institute
Webster, Texas (March 20, 2017) – The Metabolic and Weight Loss Institute at Bay Area Regional Medical Center is teaming up with Houston-area chef Adrian Perez (HEB, Texas Home & Garden, Complete Eats), for a healthy cooking demonstration at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 29, in the hospital’s Grand Lobby (200 Blossom St in Webster, Texas).
In addition to a full healthy cooking demo, Nicole Beene, who lost over 100 pounds with gastric sleeve surgery, will share her inspiring success story alongside her doctor, Rizwan Chaudhry, M.D.
Aimed to educate the community on healthy eating habits and offer inspiration from Beene’s story, the speakers during the demonstration will highlight additional weight loss options, including the new non-surgical gastric balloon procedure.
“Our goal is to bring real, fresh and healthy ideas to the kitchen with Chef Adrian, paired with an amazing testimonial from Nicole,” said Lindsay Hughes, MS, RDN, LD, CDE, Bariatric Dietitian at Bay Area Regional. “We are dedicated to providing exceptional care and making a difference in people’s lives, and events like these are one way to help make that difference.”
This special demonstration will feature an on-site demonstration where Perez will share techniques for three courses including Lemon Balsamic Vinaigrette over Spinach & Kale Pumpkin Seed Salad, Coconut Flour Crusted Chicken with Artichoke Tomato Relish and Lemon Cream Spaghetti Squash, and Paleo Raspberry Chocolate Cupcakes
Visitors will not only have the opportunity to ask Perez for culinary advice and discuss Beene’s experience, but also receive a Bay Area Regional cutting board and copies of the tasty recipes to re-create at home.
